It is with a heavy heart that I begin this edition. As many know by now, the Bay Area lost a true gem, a true treasure this week with the passing of Bill King.

Bill graced the airwaves with his descriptions of Warriors for 21 seasons. He was a unique man, and I don’t use that term lightly. He had many interests and the one truth of his life was that he lived it to the fullest.

I had come to know him a little bit in the last two years and he was a fountain of knowledge and one of the better story-tellers that I have ever known.

We will all miss him. There will never be another Bill King and I look forward to the day when he enters the Hall of Fame.

TRAINING CAMP AND BEYOND
The Warriors head into the final week of the preseason, with Opening Night less than two weeks away. The team is progressing and has shown signs of being a really explosive, albeit streaky offensive team. The defense is getting better, but still needs some work.
Mike Dunleavy's outside shot has improved since last season.

The only down side of camp has been the absence of Ike Diogu because of the broken bone in his hand. It would be great to have him out there contributing to the club’s inside game.

Hi Mr. Tim Roye
I really think that the production we get out of the three position from Dunleavy and Pietrus will be the key. If these two players step up their game, especially defensively, this could be the key to the Warriors success. What do you think are the realistic expectations from our small forward players?
Thanks,
Edgar from San Mateo

Edgar,
I think Mike will have a great season this year and it appears that his shot is better and he is more confident. His play is paramount to the Warriors success as he is more of a "glue guy", which every good team needs. Pietrus will also give the Warriors some athleticism and defense and will be the swing player who can give them time at the two spot or the three position; it should be a position of strength for the Warriors all season long.
Thanks
Tim

Tim,
Do you think the Warriors will make it to the playoffs?
Thanks,
Rachael
From Chico

Rachael,
I think the Warriors will make the playoffs and I think that they will be anywhere from 5 to 8 in the seeding. There, I said it. I really believe that they will be in the mix; I believe they will have one of the league's best records and will be a tough match up for anyone in the Association.
Thanks
Tim

Adonal Foyle went into this years training camp in the best shape of his career.
Tim,
I've been a fan of Adonal Foyle through the years — probably more for his intelligence and good political work than his basketball performance -- but his offensive contribution and rebounding is frustrating.
Russell Long

Russell,
Adonal is in good shape and I think he will have a good season. He played very well in Hawaii and if he rebounds, and blocks shots then his contributions to the Warriors will be invaluable. Offensive production for this Warriors team will not be a problem.
Thanks
Tim

Hey Tim,
Anyway to get your Warriors Roundtable show posted online, so we can listen if we can't get to a radio in time?
Thanks,
Javy

Javy,
I believe that plans to do that very thing are already in the works. We’re looking into adding a podcast link to our roundtable page this season. Thanks for your interest and we hope to have some great shows for you to listen to this season.
Tim
