The phrase "10-day" has been replaced with "rest of the season" when referencing Leandro Barbosa's contract with the Suns. The veteran guard signed for the remainder of the 2013-14 campaign on Tuesday after completing a pair of 10-day contracts. He put up 8.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in just over 21 minutes per contest in that span. Barbosa had hoped his stay in Phoenix wouldn't be restricted to that time period, however, and was effusive in his excitement via Twitter and Instagram.

It’s a great, talented team. Very fun. I’m happy that I found out I’m going to stay. I’m going to pray and thank God because it was a hard time for me when I did the surgery. If I look back and see what I’ve been through, many people didn’t believe I could come back and play for the NBA again. Now I’m going to work really hard because I really want to help the team and I know I can. But, for now, thank you Phoenix

Several Suns players and staff expressed their own reactions to Barbosa's confirmed stay with the team, all of it positive. Dragic in particular was pleased. The Slovenian point guard became close friends with the Brazilian scorer during their first stint in Phoenix from 2008 through 2010.

Upon finding out about Barbosa's initial return to Phoenix, Dragic requested his locker be placed next to his own.
