March 26, 2014 The Lakers welcomed local High School students from Long Beach Poly and Long Beach Cabrillo to the Toyota Sports Center for a HealthCorps Appreciation Day. The students were welcomed by Lakers players Nick Young and Kendall Marshall who answered questions about what they do to stay healthy before Lakers strength and conditioning coach Tim DiFrancesco met with the students.
DiFrancesco gave the students information about his road to becoming the Lakers strength and conditioning coach and answered questions about what it takes to obtain a career in the sports medicine industry. He also spoke to the importance of a healthy balanced diet for long term health benefits. The students asked DiFrancesco several questions before enjoying a healthy lunch.
The day concluded with a tour of the Laker locker room, a shoot around on the practice floor, and photos with the 2010 NBA Championship Trophy. The Lakers are excited about teaming up with HealthCorps to encourage healthy lifestyle choices for the people of the Los Angeles area.
