Radio Mambi’ To Become HEAT Spanish Radio Flagship Station For Remainder of Regular Season And Playoffs
MIAMI, March 30 – The Miami HEAT announced today that WAQI-710 AM Radio Mambí will serve as the Spanish radio flagship station beginning with the HEAT game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on April 1. Due to the scheduling conflict with the Florida Marlins, Radio Mambí will broadcast games for the remainder of the regular season and the 2006 NBA Playoffs. WQBA will return as the official Spanish radio flagship station of the Miami HEAT for the 2006-07 NBA season.
MIAMI, March 30 – The HEAT announced today that all individual game tickets for their first two home games of the 2006 NBA Playoffs will go on sale Friday, April 7, at 10:00 am. Due to a very high season ticket holder renewal rate, individual game ticket inventory is extremely limited and tickets are expected sell out quickly. MIAMI, December 12 – The Miami HEAT announced today that Stan Van Gundy has resigned as Head Coach due to personal and family reasons. HEAT President Pat Riley will assume head coaching duties immediately. Van Gundy will remain with the HEAT as an NBA free agent evaluator, while also assisting the team in other projects.

This marks the 16th time in franchise history a HEAT player has earned Player of the Week honors. HEAT Designate Person Contract for Amnesty Clause
MIAMI, August 16 - The Miami HEAT announced today that they have designated the contract of forward Wesley Person for the amnesty provision under the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement. The provision allows a team to remove a player’s contract from the team’s salary cap for purposes of calculating the luxary tax. The HEAT requested waivers on Person on March 1, 2005.

MIAMI, July 6 – The Miami HEAT announced today that the club’s 2005 draft pick, Wayne Simien, will join current HEAT players Dorell Wright and Qyntel Woods in representing the HEAT at the upcoming Summer Pro League in Long Beach, California. HEAT forward Rasual Butler and HEAT Community Affairs Liaison Wali Jones will head to Puerto Rico this weekend to provide a complimentary basketball clinic for inner-city youth. This is the first of three stops on the tour, which will also hit the Bahamas and Trinidad later this month. Entertainment will be provided by the Xtreme Team and the HEAT Dancers.
