MIAMI, June 28 – The Miami HEAT announced today they have selected forward Wayne Simien with the 29th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft.

MIAMI, May 24 – The National Basketball Association (NBA) returns to Puerto Rico on October 14 with a marquee match-up between the Miami HEAT and the Memphis Grizzlies in San Juan, it was announced today by the NBA. Both teams are expected to travel with their full preseason rosters, bringing to the island stars such as Miami HEAT All-Stars Shaquille O’Neal and Dwyane Wade and Memphis Grizzlies star forward Pau Gasol. The on-sale date for the event to take place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Mario Agrelot will be announced at a later date.

MIAMI, April 26 – Starting with Game Two of the First Round series against the New Jersey Nets, all HEAT playoff games broadcast on Sun Sports will be available in Spanish, via the SAP (Secondary Audio Programming) function on the viewer’s television set. José Pañeda, the Spanish voice of the HEAT, and Joe Pujala will call the action. The game can also be heard on radio on WAQI 710 AM in Spanish and 610 WIOD in English. HEAT announcers Eric Reid and Tony Fiorentino will call the game in English on Sun Sports, with Jason Jackson reporting from the sideline.
MIAMI, April 25 – The Miami HEAT was named the 2004-05 winner of the Florida Education Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award for its HEAT Academy free, after-school program. The HEAT is one of only three organizations to receive this award in Miami-Dade County, and this selection marks the second time the HEAT has received this award for its HEAT Academy program.

All 82 HEAT regular season games are scheduled to be telecast, including 70 contests on Sunshine Network.     MIAMI, August 2 – The Miami HEAT announced their 2004-2005 regular season schedule today. The 82-game schedule consists of 41 home dates, all in the AmericanAirlines Arena, and 41 road contests, and is set to run from Wednesday, November 3, 2004 through Wednesday, April 20, 2004.
