Joakim Noah and Ronnie Brewer attend dinner held in honor of Black History Month to recognize 25 outstanding African American area high school students

February 22, 2012 – In honor of Black History Month, the Chicago Bulls and Sprite hosted the fifth annual “Sprite Chicago MVPs Program” dinner on Tuesday evening to celebrate the achievements of 25 African American male students from local public high schools.

Joakim Noah, Ronnie Brewer, Sidney Green, Bob Love and Benny the Bull were on hand to help recognize the accomplishments of the young men. A complete list of the Sprite Chicago MVPs, including their names, school affiliations and hometowns, is available below.

The students each received a tablet as a special gift from the Bulls, and they will also attend the Bulls home game on Tuesday, February 28 against the New Orleans Hornets.

Students applied online at Bulls.com/spritemvp2012 and were selected based on academic accomplishments, community service and an essay. The average GPA for the students selected as Sprite Chicago MVPs is 3.3, and in total, the group performed more than 2,000 hours of community service during the past few school years.
