Bobcats Chairman Michael Jordan announced on May 21 that the organization has submitted its application to change the team’s name to the Charlotte Hornets starting with the 2014-15 season. The request now goes to the NBA Board of Governors, which next meets on July 18 in Las Vegas, where it would need a majority vote for approval. The Charlotte Bobcats will have the fourth selection in the 2013 NBA Draft, which will be held Thursday, June 27, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The Bobcats had a 55.8 percent chance of receiving a top-three pick in tonight’s NBA Draft Lottery, with a 31.9 percent chance of getting the No. 4 pick.
